The Rivers State Police Command felicitates with the Government and good people of Rivers State on the occasion of Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary Celebration and wishes to assure the general public and indeed residents of the state that adequate security measures have been emplaced to ensure that the October 1st independence Anniversary Celebration is carried out in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday after a meeting with Divisional Police Officers/Heads of tactical units and Area Commanders, today charged them to provide watertight security in all the vulnerable and key points, Worship and fun centers, as well as Government critical infrastructure and waterways, to ward off external aggressions.
He further enjoins all residents of the State to go about the celebration without fear of molestation. However, he advised parents and guardians to put their children and wards on check and ensure they shun acts capable of undermining the security of the state.
